Planning Commission to review request for development of Royal
property on Flyway Drive
The Royal family has
applied for approval to develop their property located on both sides
of Royal Beach on Flyway Drive. Twelve lots are platted on one side
and 25 lots on the other. The lots extend from Flyway Drive to the
ocean and are laid out somewhat similarly to Royal Beach, though
with heavier density.
After considerable
discussion concerning the size of the lots, their density, the
specified right-of-way to the beach, requested pond areas and the
necessary permits for them, the Planning Commission decided to
postpone a decision until next month’s meeting because they felt
that there was too much information lacking.
It should also be
pointed out that historically these two areas are deer and bobcat
territory, providing cover for bedding down, birthing and routes to
other parts of the island.
