September 1st Announcement from the KPOG Board of Directors

The Town of Kiawah Island will hold two discussion sessions to inform residents of the duties and challenges facing the Town Council Members in the next two years to assist possible candidates for the upcoming election in December. These meetings will be held at the Town Hall at 10:00 AM on Sept. 14 and at 2:00 PM on Sept. 22. A presentation will be made by Allison Harvey on the makeup of the Council, current activity, and future issues that may face the new Town Council. Current Council Members will be present to answer any questions.

     Candidates for the Mayor and 4 Town Council Member seats will have to file between 9:00 AM Sept. 20^th and 12:00 Noon Oct 1^st to be listed on the ballot for the December 7^th election.

     Anyone considering running for office is encouraged to come to the meetings to assist in deciding whether to run. This election will be important to all property owners because of several important issues that will be handled by the next Town Council.
