The following actions took place at the
December 9th Kiawah Island Town Council meeting:

Town Council passed 1st
reading of an amendment to Article 4, finance and taxation ordinance
to specify rental reporting requirements and enforcement provisions.
The amending ordinance 2003-6 passed unanimously after several
modifications were made to the draft ordinance.

This ordinance will now join two
other ordinances that were passed last month specifying rental
regulation requirements and be acted upon next week at the
Town Council Meeting on December, 16 at 3:30 PM. Some comments
were presented from the audience recommending changes for
Council to review prior to passage of the ordinances with 2nd
reading at the next meeting.

At
the end of the meeting, Mayor Wert reported that the
roundabout project is moving ahead and a deed to transfer
the property needed for the roundabout is being prepared by
the developer, KRA and should be ready for review shortly.
Transfer is expected by the end of January.
