September 6th News from the KPOG Board of Directors

  • On September 4th, the Resort presented to the Planning Commission, conceptual plans for redevelopment at the Ocean Course. Included is a 17,000+ sq. ft. clubhouse with 15 lodging rooms on the second level and 5 other rooms in the attic area.

  • Resort presentation to the Planning Commission (continued) In addition, the Resort will ask for zoning relief on construction of up to 20, four bedroom, golf cottages sized at approximately 3200 sq. ft. During the open comments session, residents expressed concern over security and increased traffic problems. The Planning Commission will wait for a formal presentation before scheduling public meetings and making a recommendation to Town Council.

  • The mid year KPOG meeting is scheduled for Monday evening, September 29, at Turtle Point. Guest speakers include Prem Devadas from KIGR, Mayor Bill Wert, and KICA President Marty Yonas. Topics of interest include the Sandcastle renovation study, the roundabout, parkway master plan, property tax cap, short term rental rules and enforcement, communications towers, and the Ocean Course redevelopment plan. Efforts are continuing to provide information on the Freshfields project. The meeting begins at 7:00PM.
